We asked Ben a few personal questions……here’s what he said.
What have you done before F3E fitness wise?
I’ve always been into fitness and been a very active person from a young age, wether it’s swimming, freediving, basketball, football or my local boxing club. I studied in two forms of martial arts from a young age and enjoyed the challenges, etiquette focus and discipline that came with it.
What did you do before F3E in life?
In 2006 I decided to take on my biggest challenge yet, to join the Royal Marines. It’s the longest and most arduous infantry training in the world at 32 weeks long and has a drop out rate of 80%. I passed! 🙂 I’ve been to many places around the world and trained in Arctic, jungle, desert and urban environments.

During my time as a medic I found the most interesting part of my job were muscle skeletal injuries, the investigation and creating a pathway to a healthier, stronger recovery. With this knowledge I’ve now set out a plan to leave the Royal Marines after 11 years, to do what I enjoy most. I’m enrolling to university in 2018 to study Physiotherapy and am currently studying A level biology and physiology to gain access to Uni.
Any particular interests of yours you wouldn't mind sharing more widely so we can bring you as a coach to life?
Over the years I’ve added to my many hobbies and interests. As well as hiking, wild camping, trail running and Spearfishing I have a keen interest in fitness and training.
Forgot to throw in there I enjoy obstacle course racing and have done three Spartan races in 2017 of three different lengths to achieve the Trifecta
I’m a British Weight Lifting qualified Olympic Lifting coach, Kettlebell Pro Coach, Suspension Fitness Coach, Pad Work Coach and High Intensity Interval Training Coach. I enjoy learning new skills and hate not knowing how to do something. If I don’t know something, I’ll find out.
